Mod+ Telekinesis as a spiritual journey

K9!

This is an interview with Sean McNamara, who has written a book on telekinesis and has a youtube channel to promote his work. His part of the show starts at about 33 minutes. (FYI, the first interview on the show was with the guy who did the Ramtha cult propaganda movie, What the Bleep.)

Sean seems very sincere in his efforts. My only misgivings are that even though he talks about scientific research into these areas, he hasn't participated in any research. It would be nice to get some confirmation of his abilities from a scientific perspective.

Thanks for that! I wasn't that fond of the interviewer, so I found a video of the guy himself that seemed more useful.

I also found this rather laughable 'debunking' of his efforts:

I include it, just because it illustrates how someone can perform no tests and yet assert with total confidence that the effect is false. Even the assertion that it would break some immutable laws of physics is pretty misleading.

1) There is at least a suspicion from within physics that consciousness might cause wavefunction collapse.

2) When wavefunction collapse is tested in the lab (e.g. the 2-slit experiment), it follows statistical rules, but that is when no mental effort is being applied. However Dean Radin's experiments show that people (most particularly mediators) can affect the statistics of wavefunction collapse.

But of course, people will read that link and no their heads sagely......

By statistical rules I assume you mean by Newtonian physics? I wasn't aware the double slit had ever been shown to perform in a way that validates newtonianism, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

The statistical rules in question are the ones that interpret the wavefunction in terms of probability. So for example the wave function for one electron can be converted to the probability that the electron is at any particular point by evaluating ψ ψ* (were * represents complex conjugate).

This rule works well in general, but who knows if it still applies when meditators focus on a particular outcome!

Why do you keep on putting a pitchfork icon up that means nothing at all, David?
