Trump Consciousness

This clown is doing everything he can to wreck democracy and you all support it.

Conspiracy after conspiracy. Discrediting of media, public health, and science; discrediting of all traditional bastions of knowledge and truth. Appeals to one's own authority instead.

Run that down the entire rabbit hole Jim and you know what comes out the other side? Blind faith in Trump. Whatever he says is correct as all other, formerly credible bastions of knowledge have been discredited. Sure, you can bemoan their own role in this demise but ask yourself what is Trump doing to bolster/rebuild credibility in a free press? In science?

Nothing. He wants it that way. Sets up his family's run; sets up his dynasty. Its never been about anything else; just his ego.

Comical that so many people have bought into this NEVER substantiated notion that Trump is somehow a patriot. That through all his years of being around the common man he was prepared to serve them. (Though he's NEVER been around common men; he's been an elitist his entire life.) He is just flat out dangerous.

Now, the democrats? Sheesh, could they have possibly found two weaker candidates between Hilliary and Biden? Such a shame. Amazing its this close with Biden barely able to form coherent sentences. The whole thing's a complete mess.

What exactly is he doing to wreck democracy - let's try to nail that point.

He has appointed a number of people to the supreme court, and he is permitted by the constitution to do that.

He is opposed to people voting without identification - is it that which wrecks democracy?

He is opposed to people sending in late ballots and these being counted - does that wreck democracy?

Please explain what you mean rather than just using slogans.

I already stated it David:

Its never discussed here. The means are overlooked for the ends that suit the various dogged Trump supporters. In your case, its your belief in Trump's anti-war stance. Let's grant this to be the case. There is still a cost to Trump's approach. Again, see above.

He has spawned all sorts of generally under-educated people to now openly question the general value of vaccines, to dismiss any media outlet that doesn't echo Trump's own talking points, to dismiss our own intelligence community and other federal agencies (e.g., FBI), to call public health officials "idiots". He does all this without a shred of counter evidence or any sort of intellectual rigor. Its based, solely it seems, on Trump's own personal and political agenda.

So when he leaves office, what's next? Well, for these sycophants it will only be someone else with the last name Trump. A dynasty is his goal? A dynasty where he (and his family) can reach the American people directly with any message of their choosing. Without any third party oversight of what is being said, what authority's are being discredited, what authority's are putting put forth as replacements without independent review.

All that risks democracy in my view as people put full and complete trust and faith in autocrats (Trump). As he's "joked" before, he feels he could shoot someone dead on Fifth Avenue in NYC and his supporters wouldn't care. His words, not mine.

Consistent efforts to lock up his political rivals. How about that alone?

Thanks Malf. The list is shockingly robust, yet supporters don't seemed bothered at all by it. Seemingly they pass it off as harmless rhetoric; just "Trump being Trump".

I don't see it that way and certainly the masses of his supporters don't seem to either based on their own words both written and spoken. The most recent "lock them up chant" was started by his crowd. Of course... Trump jumped in and chanted it as well.

Apparently he’s furious with Barr (the infamous leftist) for not prosecuting the Bidens.

Malf, all your content will be dismissed as fake. Produced by the evil cabal of mainstream media, extreme left revolutionists, evil elitists, and pedophiles. The irony being, of course, that those exact same accusations are being made of Trump (Fox as his media shill, extreme right groups supporting Trump (guys like Charlie), evil elitists (well, because Trump IS a member of the elite), and pedophiles).

Trump is absolutely a master of marketing, disinformation and manipulation.

Yet, since he hasn't started any wars none of that matters. Cognitive dissonance at its finest?

Would you like to pick one item from that vague smear that you would like to really justify?

Should we talk about the Russia conspiracy that Mueller investigated and could bring no charges - after 3 years. Who exactly was conspiring then?

I question the value of many vaccines and I hope I am not 'uneducated'.

Is his real sin to make jokes that others might avoid?

The senate has been investigating the actions of the FBI in connection with the Russia dossier which it turns out was paid for by the Democratic party - should we discuss that?

Which of those reasons do you think is most worth discussing in detail?

Sigh.

Sure David, let's start with this:

Claiming the election is rigged against you and repeatedly trying to get political opponents locked up is straight out of the dictator’s playbook. It’s incredible how much anti democracy bullshit his supporter’s will excuse.

So are we saying that if Biden and his son did make a lot of money with corrupt dealings with Ukrainian officials, he should be let off - or what?

If they do end up in jail, it will of course be after due process of law and all the manoeuvring that super expensive lawyers can buy - you know that.

David

Thanks K9 - I had a feeling he did say that, but I would have found it hard to locate the clip.

OK, Silence, what do you do with your chosen subject (don't move to something else, nobody here has infinite patience).

David

You are welcome, David.

I've posted it before, so if Silence hadn't put me on ignore, he would have known better than to pick this topic.

Barr’s reluctance to go after them should tell you all you need to know... What’s the crime?
