Trump Consciousness

I shared this prediction over on Psiencequest so I’ll post it here too:

1) They’re deliberately giving all the Trump haters false hope right now just to increase the feelings of animosity when the result is reversed a few months later after legal battles reveal fraud.

2) both sides will be completely worn out and fed up by the months long emotional roller coaster and we’ll hear loud cries for election reform on both sides.

3) The ultimate solution will tie in nicely with the COVID immunity passports: a unique digital ID for everyone.

Kathryn Murdoch is the only family member to have spoken out since the election. The Murdoch family holds its intramural activity fairly close, but her tweet, endorsing a call for the family to put country before profit, touches on what might be the family’s main concern: money. While Rupert and Lachlan have strong conservative political beliefs, the Fox proposition has always been a business one — the family has reaped billions from the network. In the U.K. in 1997, the Murdoch media holdings shifted their support to then-Labour Party leader Tony Blair, not for ideological reasons but business ones. Now, Kathryn Murdoch, in calling for the network to report honestly about election-fraud conspiracy theories in the U.S., seems to be acknowledging that it would not be a revenue-enhancing position. Many of Fox News’s pro-Trump viewers would be incensed, and a loss of viewers could ultimately affect the network’s crucial revenue stream: cable fees.

The question could be asked: After decades of running Fox News as an irresponsible right-wing propaganda machine, why change now, why speak out now, after all that’s been done by the network and supported by the family? The answer might be that the Murdoch family’s run of remarkable impunity could really be over as there is now greater scrutiny of what they’re responsible for.

I'm actually enjoying Jim's personal meltdown. Its fitting considering he's used this community as his personal dumping ground for his political bullshit. No dialogue, no questioning, no substantiation, he's like a little baby authoritarian wanna be Trump.

Well Put!

This article predicts Biden will lose Pennsylvania after the court challenge leaving him with 270 electoral votes and that one of Nevada, Wisconsin, or Michigan could also be won for Trump through court action which would give Trump enough electoral votes to win the election.

https://www.americanthinker.com/art...minute_some_very_good_news_may_be_coming.html

Start with Pennsylvania. Biden, as of this writing, is at 290 electoral votes. Pennsylvania is 20.

I read the Justice Alito opinion, and it is pretty clear that he wants the after election night at 8:00 P.M. votes separated for a reason. Biden is going to lose at the Supreme Court, and they know it. Four justices already said the Pennsylvania Supreme Court cannot adjust voting rules. A new arrival, Justice Barrett, says she is there to apply the rules in the Constitution. OK, wanna bet she does?

Remove the after 8:00 P.M. ballots, and Biden loses Pennsylvania. Biden 270.

Let's visit Nevada. I have lots of friends in California who have condos in Nevada to evade state taxes. There are not a couple of people doing this; there are tens of thousands. Everyone knows it, and California seeks them out.

Our old pal Harry Reid knows it as well, and he apparently has them voting in droves in this election. Probably not a big D.J. constituency. Within 72 hours of the election, the Trump team found, validated over 3,500 of them. I do not suspect that Trump's people stopped counting.

Every one of these is a ballot reduction for Biden

Nevada, as of now, is well within reach for DJ and the Trump team — particularly when the California crowd is reduced. And a few of them may testify since a false vote is a very bad thing, with jail time if convicted. Maybe a bigger story here.
...
Let's visit Wisconsin. Right now, it is 20,000 votes in Uncle Joe's direction. Lots of stories out there, well below the Google fold, that there are way more Wisconsin votes than there are registered voters. OK, maybe the dead can vote up there — probably a Midwest thing.

Well, last night, we found that Wisconsin election clerks were told, and followed the direction, to modify mail-in ballots and fill in the blanks where witnesses left out critical info.

I am sure it was just a good customer service thing and they meant no harm. The problem is every such ballot is now toast.
...
Michigan. Oh, yes, the land of the "glitches" in the voting machines. Six thousand votes for Trump given to Biden in one of 47 counties where that software is used. About 150,000 votes in Biden's favor right now.

Google the 130,000 Biden votes that showed up in the middle of the night, and you can see how the wonderful people at Google are fact-checking this "debunked" story. In fact, for fun, Google "Michigan voter fraud," and you get literally three pages of "this was fact checked and proven to be false." Why would Google be so assiduous?

They too see that if Amy votes with the four, Biden is one vote away from the basement.

Lawsuits in Michigan and the other states are being launched, and discovery will take place. Google will not be there.

I'm with several others who have indicated their interests to be more in the consciousness science, persistence of consciousness, big question pursuits, etc. I want sceptics here posting. I want proponents posting. I'd like it to be a respectful, passionate debate. I hate trolling and baiting. I don't like personal attacks. A certain decorum should be expected in communication. (As if you were in the same room conversing verbally.)

I've never seen Jim make personal attacks against you, but clearly you don't hold yourself to the same rules you want others to follow.

Why would you expect Trump supporters to accept Biden as president, when Democrats never accepted the results of the 2016 election? And why does someone whose self-stated interests are in "consciousness science, persistence of consciousness, big question pursuits, etc. " (and not in the kind of discussions going on here at skeptiko), come here to troll and make personal attacks against members of this forum?

The evidence suggests that you are a dishonest and hypocritical person.

I voted for W in ‘04 during the second election I was old enough to vote for after having voted for Gore in ‘00 (I was still convinced at that time of the need for a strong military response to 9/11 in order to ensure national security, hence my vote). My political worldview at that time was much less developed than it currently is but I recall the significant polarization that was already at work at that time between the right and left. It became one of the last nails in the coffin of a relationship I was in at the time as my gf was a democrat from a family of democrats. I remember all kinds of arguments and nastiness. It was exhausting and, frankly, sad.

I still think about those times and the loneliness and sadness that I experienced in the wake of that relationship ending... over what? George W. Bush and what I thought I knew or didn’t know about our political situation and what is good and right vs bad and wrong - and then changed my mind about years later!

I guess we’re all cursed to keep engaging in these kinds of arguments and disputes. The truth is, at the end of the day, politics DO matter quite a lot in terms of the day to day experience of people. So, it DOES matter and, I suppose, matters enough to even end relationships over - potentially. My feeling is that Biden winning has saved Social Security for at least a few more years. There’s a real big material benefit that was likely going to disappear VERY soon under Trump. I can’t countenance seeing my parents who just began receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits to lose them after having worked their entire lives paying into those programs (despite the fact that they themselves voted for Trump). So, now, though they’re angry AF, and I and my brother won’t receive any thanks for neutralizing their votes, they will receive a couple extra years of a social safety net that they were very likely about to lose.

I’m glad to see that W said what he said here. Though the QAnon folks will cry Deep State as W is likely not populist and Republican *enough* for the Trump folks. Same as Fox isn’t even right enough for a lot of these people anymore. If I acted like Trump acts when I was a kid, my parents would have shamed the fuck out of me and even hit me around for it. I got reamed out for next to nothing in terms of egoic displays as a little kid and yet they’ll countenance all kinds of ludicrousness out of Trump, excusing it by saying, “Well, Hillary would have been WAYYYYYYYY worse!” Worse than this? Worse than a raging pandemic that has had the wheels greased to go even faster!?

That’s one thing that this Trump presidency has done to/for me: I don’t take supposed moral authorities seriously at all anymore. Working hard, telling the truth, being compassionate, demonstrating integrity even when it hurts... it’s clear none of that matters to the religious teachers or even school teachers of my youth and it certainly doesn’t matter to “Christianity, Inc.” So long as these people get someone in there who will ram through a bunch of shit Supreme Court nominees and cut taxes on the rich, that’s all that matters. Anything goes! Morality is just for the little guy and earnestness is for suckers. Just make up lies about your competition and keep repeating it until the chorus of idiots repeating it thinks their mantra constitutes “alternative facts.”

I could go on but I’ll stop the catharsis here. I’m glad to see the asshole took a beating and has to deal with his ego taking the hit. My child self sure had to get his.
