Greys are what appear in the night, absent the defining characteristics, clear delineations and pointed features we know as human. An alien face is the absence of facial characteristics. It's a void of face, what one can only gather in the confusion of darkness within the presumed company of an unknown. It's so obvious.

It's worth pointing out that one of the commenters to the article above mentioned by DFJ claims to also have been a research subject of David Jacobs. This person wrote (emphasis mine):

Yes – thank you Emma. I was once a “research subject” of Dr. Jacobs as well. Everything you are saying is 100% correct – and I appreciate your professional, firm, factual stance. It cannot have been easy going public, but you have truly done an amazing service to our community. I suffered for years with the belief that my experiences were evil/harmful/threatening — in no small part due to the “hostile takeover” storyline that he and others like him have been peddling. I now have a very different take on the phenomenon, and I feel vindicated and encouraged by the intellectually honest work that you and Jeremy have done. I am a research scientist btw – and I find these sorts of unsupervised hypnosis protocols appalling from both a scientific and ethical standpoint.

EarlGrey also posted this comment to an earlier article, in this case written by Tyler Kokjohn, PhD:

I am an experiencer. I saw Dr. Jacobs for a few hypnosis sessions in the early nineties. It was my opinion then that he was leading me with his questions and focusing in an unhealthy way on sex. I stopped going to see him, and I am glad I did! I’ve followed his work over the years and it seems more and more detached from reality – just his own icky fantasies at this point. His work discredits the entire phenomenon.

@Ian Gordon What's your take on abductions in general? Is it ET visitation or sleep paralysis? Which one?

I'd ask @Trancestate also, but he's too hyper-neutral. No fun.

Darn. I didn't realize this was a mod+ show thread. I've been letting my hair down thinking I was over on the rowdy part of the forum.

We need to have a long conversation about chemtrails at some point. That's the elephant in the room.

@Alex What's your take on chemtrails/geoengineering? Corbett has done some pretty good interviews on the subject. Do you think you'll ever get into the serious political stuff like that on Skeptiko? I used to think the consciousness stuff and metaphysics was of central importance, then I started devouring Corbett Reports and I totally changed my mind. If society has an enemy it sure as hell ain't materialism, unless materialism is another way of saying Trilateral Commission. It's like the difference between Jerry Coyne and Henry Kissinger. Sure, they're both unfortunate adversaries, but one of them is only super annoying while the other is a mass murderer.

    I don't know.

Probably a bunch of things, including astral phenomena. I doubt sleep paralysis is a major factor. I think ET-multidimensional "visitations" figure in there somewhere, some of the time. Hypnotherapy probably helps uncover memories some of the time, create-alter memories other times. Just my hunches.

I agree. I tend not to put much faith into experiences, if the memories of which come out of hypnosis sessions and/or are recalled at a much later date, but there are some that are truly mind boggling.

I've got the Fowler books set and ready to go! :)

I'm not saying I think hypnotherapy creates the memories most of the time, though. It's probably a mixture.

Well, I just listened to a recent Coast on the topic of abductions and it gets too absurd sometimes. Apparently, the aliens can wipe our memories. But they can also implant memories, according to the guest. Maybe aliens just implant memories of abductions without actually doing it, then wipe the memories they themselves implanted.

Budd Hopkins had first come upon this discovery of "screen memories", memories the aliens (who, you know, are just probably another version of you, btw) implant to mask the abduction events. Jacobs gets into that as well.

Then of course there are the memories Jacobs implants. :D

I'm not buying what Jacobs is selling. I just thought the interview on MU was interesting. I don't 100% discount much on UFOs, but I don't really believe much either. It is a really difficult area.

Damn you, K9. I didn't even want to know. Well, I guess I have to listen to it now. At least it's Knapp and not Noory.

Note: 'gang stalking/gangs talking' is the only "conspiracy theory" which I nearly fully reject. It makes no sense. And it's nearly impossible to differentiate a victim of GS from a sufferer of paranoid schizophrenia, unfortunately. Victims state that the intelligence services are able to literally place thoughts in one's mind, which as we all know is not even theoretically possible. And how could someone be a perpetual victim of EM weaponry, while all it takes to block EM radiation is a thin sheet of aluminum. You'd think if victims were constantly being tortured in their sleep, they'd eventually spend 5 bucks at a hardware store and do something about it.

I actually do know what's really going on, but perhaps that's for another thread...

I have followed David Jacob's research for a number of years, and I think it's possibly the most important research I've ever come across. I think about its consequencies for humanity a lot.
So I just felt the need to come on here and stick up for him. I think he comes across as very reasonable and intelligent, it would be an unimaginable shame if his life of research is not given
the time it deserves and I encourage people to look into it more. Here's a talk of his I liked:

what about John Mack... what about Mary Rodwell? What if Jacobs has only part of the story?

I think they are both incredibly important too.
Unfortunately John Mack's passing means we didn't get to see how his ideas developed. What I like about Jacobs' research is seeing how it has evolved over time. In the beginning, there were no babies, just "routine" abductions. Then people started to talk about the babies, and about how they were told to interact with them. Most recently he has told us about the "hubrids", and how people are being asked to integrate them into society. Somewhat worryingly, people are also being trained in how to "help/direct" non-abduction humans on to a waiting UFO.
Sometimes I get the impression from Mary Rodwell her research is less scientific. For example, in a recent talk of hers she talk about odd-shaped "alien" skulls that have been found, and quotes quantum physics (taking it a bit too far imo). So although I value it very much, I just sometimes come away wondering how much of it is thorough research and how much is "a guy told me". I prefer the patterns Jacob's notices, in the end I get a feeling of whatever he has discovered is probably true. I don't particularly agree with his interpretation however (and to be fair to him he doesn't say he's sure about his interpretation).
What a shame we never get to hear them debate their views, or even have a conversation.
