Are we having that conversation already? We barely know each other! I was thinking dinner and a movie first...I was thinking more along the lines of hypothesized angels and demons.
So, if you've looked at RS's epochs yet, or explored it in other ways, there seems to have been a time when we were less material, more ethereal. Gods walked the earth, djinn and nature spirits frolicked among us...
Even if you just take all of the mythological and religious hyperbole, they might refer to actual beings and events back in other times.
And then there's that FB interview with Clif High (one of my favorite guests Al's had, you should take a swing at him) where he's talking about the first night vision goggles with red filters they used in 'Nam and what they perceived. Very interesting.
ANYWAY, I think they belong more to the upper and lower realms and psychic energies. Don't really have a direct effect on the material plane, but can influence, like the old buddies on the shoulders whispering in your ear.
LRH claimed there were no such things through D&S, but he made some other OUTRAGEOUS claims, so... Still, he did have some good insights. Was privy to some shit. Also nutty as a fruitcake. I've read some of the D&S books but never wanted to fully embrace it and join. Peter Moon knew him directly and has written about it.
Liked some of his deeper fiction like Mission Earth and Battlefield Earth (horrendous movie, hardly even worth it for the cheese factor).
I'm picking away at Bulfinch and broadening my understanding of mythology, so I can finally take on Paradise Lost. I think Milton and even William Blake hold a lot of clues to the old world versus the new.
The other aspect of it all is humidity and electricity. Which probably relates to expanding earth and cycles.
Seems like we used to have other heightened senses and forms of technology that no longer worked after a couple hundred years ago. Tesla was attempting to reverse engineer some of it and tap directly into the earth, because the air was no longer as conductive.
