In search of advice

Dear Skeptiko Community/Forum, thank you for letting me in :-),

I have a long term project to produce a series of documentaries that explore the role that the fear of death plays in the formation of human society. My conviction is that its role is pivotal and that the influence is powerfully destructive in that (as i believe) fear of death is behind all of mankinds neuroses - put simply, i believe that it is the root of all evil.

One objective of the documentaries would be to compile a list of very well documented evidence that undermine the materialistic reductionist paradigm which states that annihilation is looming for all of us.

You might be saying that this is what is going on all the time and that there is no need for another guy compiling another list, but i would value very much going through the process of producing a compilation of evidence personally. For this i have gone over stuff like Veridical NDE:s, cases of reincarnation in children, parapsychology research, and similar stuff that seems to call the materialistic reductionist paradigm into question.

All this is of course well, however, there is one big disadvantage with compiling lists of other work, it is ... well, other work! I want to get my hands dirty and experience the anoamalies personally. I cannot induce an NDE in myself, nor can i die and reincarnate or similar so after much deliberation i have decided that the shortest route to personally experience that the materialistic reductionist paradigm is probably false is to reproduce some experiment in parapsychology.

So this is the question to you: In your view, what would be the most efficiently reproducible experiment that offers evidence of the existence of psi?

Kindest regards
Johnny

Do you have a PhD level statistician at your disposal?

The easiest most certain way to prove psi is real is to keep a dream log and you will find you have precognitive dreams.

This is a free e-book about it, it explains how to learn to remember your dreams and keep a dream log:

This is my web page on evidence for the afterlife:

That page also has links to free e-books on the subject.

I am somewhat in agreement with you about the "root of all evil". But I am more inclined to say it is ignorance of the afterlife than fear of death. I've written about it here:

That is a link to one section of a longer article, you might find the other sections interesting too.

One could argue that psi and questions of life and death are separate topics, demonstrate psi and you may make little or no impact on the more pressing issues.

I agree that keeping a dream journal is probably the most simple starting point.

One might also consider past-life regression - this may or may not turn up something which is verifiable, but it could at least more directly address the question of whether we survive physical death.

Something which anyone can try for themselves is a self-regression, but if you want something more suitable for a documentary, then the use of a trained regression specialist may be necessary. There was a Skeptiko episode on the topic, though it didn't seem to turn up much by way of results, if I remember correctly.

There are some interesting documentaries on the subject on youtube.

Thank you all for your valuable comments :-)

You are very kind to provide me with many resources and i will look into them and see how to proceed.

Kindest regards
