You didn't mention one possible cause: whacky teenager. Things get a lot more interesting when an intelligent agent is involved. So, what if a well known coworker or close friend tells you that in their home they and their family members have witnessed objects suddenly and randomly flying off tables, and pictures being knocked off the walls. You interview them and their family asking detailed questions, and go over all the possible normal explanations (drafts, rattling pipes dislodging picture nails, large trucks passing by outside and causing vibrations) and conclude that absolutely none of the conceivable explanations can account for at least most of the witnessed phenomena. Do you a) Accept that the paranormal, unexplained occurrences actually happened, based on your assessment of the character and integrity of the witnesses, b) decide that they must have been exhibiting false recall because it is impossible for these things to occur as described, or c) refuse to consider any anecdotal evidence.
You didn't mention one conclusion I could reach: At least one of the people involved is stark raving mad.
I know that conclusion sounds glib, but perhaps you have not known any stark raving mad people.
