Parapsychology MOOC 2015

On January 5th, 2015, at 2:00pm Eastern, Drs. Carlos S. Alvarado and Nancy L. Zingrone, will start an online course called Parapsychology and Anomalistic Psychology: Research and Education.

The course is free to all learners and will be comprised of more than 22 content lectures from researchers, scientists, educators, graduate students and experiencers from the field of parapsychology. A couple of lectures are also listed on the schedule that are aimed towards attendees who are new to the field.

Alvarado and Zingrone will conduct an opening ceremony on the Monday, 5th of January that will orient learners to the speakers and presentations, to the Poster Sessions (stand alone PowerPoint Presentations) and other materials available in the course as well as outline how learners can earn certificates for the course if they wish. The first lecture will take place on Monday the 6th of January and the last on Thursday, February 14th, and Alvarado and Zingrone will host closing ceremonies will take place on Friday, February 14th, 2015. Scroll down for the updated Schedule of presentations.

WizIQ.com’s virtual classroom will provide the live classroom in which we will meet and talk, and get to know one another. All live lectures will be recorded and available in the classroom within hours of the live session closing and uploaded to the Parapsychology Online YouTube Channel within a few days after the lecture was first seen.

The course is called a “MOOC” (or a massively open online course) because the WizIQ Virtual Classroom allows for the registration of more than 1000 people, but whether we are 20 or 2000, it is our hope that the course will give unprecedented access to some of the best people lending their academic and scientific talents to the search for a deep understanding of psychic phenomena.

To read more about the course go to the WizIQ home page and put “parapsychology” into the search bar. Then click on Parapsychology and Anomalistic Psychology: Research and Education, read more about the course, and if you’re interested click on the “Enroll” button and follow the instructions. You will be asked to create a free WizIQ account either by using your Facebook log-in or setting up a free account with your email and a password. Once in the course you will be able to browse the discussions among the other enrollees, and watch the course build out.

Here is the current schedule for the course:

Parapsychology and Anomalistic Psychology: Research and Theory, January 5th through February 14th, 2015.

Version Date, December 13th 2015

Our free online course is supported by donations from the Parapsychology Foundation (http://www.parapsychology.org), Natasha and Jonathan Chisdes (http://www.chizfilm.net), and Phil Morse (http://www.compellingevidenceoftheafterlife.com).

Parapsychology Foundation and its President, Lisette Coly, are also partnering with us on this course. The certificates of completion for attendees will be issued by the Parapsychology Foundation. The means by which attendees may obtain a Certificate is discussed in the January 9th live session by Dr. Nancy L. Zingrone.

You will see included two “Overview” lectures that Carlos and Nancy are doing for those who are new to the scientific side of the field. There are also speakers listed who have confirmed, but who are working on their titles. Those who have days, times and titles confirmed will be listed on the Course Schedule on the day on which their talk will take place. Scroll down on the “Course Schedule” page to see the individual days, or check out your “Scheduled Activities” section on your WizIQ home. WizIQ “free-for-all” and Second Life discussion forums outside of regular live presentations will be listed on the next schedule of events.

Course times make it impossible for me, but hopefully the lectures will be available after. I think I saw something that said they would be posted to youtube.

I'll propably try to attend some of those courses since they seem to happen in the evening of my time zone. Im not really fond of the classroom-format that they are doing here, but as long as the information is worth the struggle. All that interactive stuff is a bit weird though. The intro to the whole thing just started.
Shes promising a lot of science-related stuff, so it should be interesting enough :) Especially looking forward to Radin. Just noticed that he will present too.

Btw, while listening to the first presentation right now, one of the other listeners mentioned william Buhlman. It seems like he wrote or talked about methods to experience a OBE. Anyone here who knows about him? Hemi-Sync and Michael Raduga were also mentioned. They seemed to be related to OBE's aswell.

Btw, if i got to recommend a presentation from there...

Since we are talking quite a bit about the role of neuroscience related to psi and consciousness, you might be interested in the presentation of Bryan Williams. Never heard of him before (but im a ignorant twat, so no wonders there).

The description of his lecture:
Bryan Williams will present "Beyond the Brain: Exploring the Neurophysiological Correlates of ESP." Dr. Nancy L. Zingrone will moderate the session.
Might be quite interesting to hear what he has to say. I might be wrong there, but i rarely hear people that are researching parapsychology-stuff talk about its corellates to neuroscience. It'll be on the 3.2.2015, 6pm est.
