Precognition/Presentiment experiences

I could have sworn there was a thread about this, possibly started by Sciborg, but the search on here is failing me.

I had a doozy of one happen to me about a month ago, so I was looking for the thread. I am sure one exists. Can anyone help out? Thanks.

Maybe it hasn't been created yet and you're having another pre-cog memory...? ;)

I did a little searching and found threads on precog dreams, the pre sentiment experiments, and personal synchronicity experiences, but not specifically devoted to personal waking precog experiences.

What happened??

Have you ever looked at some words, or the numbers on a digital clock, and had the sensation that you 'read' them a moment before you 'saw' them? This appears to be a common experience. It may just be a kind of mnemonic confusion caused by the extreme closeness of the two events, but it's funny to think about in terms of the presentiment experiments.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I know there are various threads on the topic, but I thought there was a "mega-thread" on it at some point. Perhaps I imagined that or I have yet to create it, like you said, ha ha.

I have often had a similar experience with analogue clocks: I look at the clock and could swear the second hand moved backwards one click before resuming the normal forward movement.

I did start one on people recurrently waking a few minutes before a random (due to irregular/unfixed working hours) clock alarm goes off. That was a while ago.

But, as I have mentioned before, my opinion is that 'synchronicities' dealing with numbers don't pack the wallop that those involving specific events and people do.

Hmm, well it was in a dream. (I have had precog dreams before.) I had a dream of a certain, very specific scenario, then a week later that scenario came to pass. It was a very strange feeling to have it happen in waking life. I had written the dream down beforehand (I only do that for dreams that seem especially strange and/or realistic) and also talked to my partner about it before this happened, so I know I am not crazy or imagining it.

I was actually quite nervous about participating in this scenario (in waking life, to be clear), and I really did think about leaving, but I forced myself to do it. It was quite surreal.

You mean you were nervous as a result of the dream? Or was it an unusual situation which in and of itself was reason enough for your reluctance?

I had an experience once where I literally saw myself turning right at an intersection before I actually arrived at the intersection where I would typically go straight. I was about a tenth of a mile away from said intersection when I had this "vision". It felt like a severe case of déjà vu. Anyway, perhaps I was avoiding an accident. Who knows?

It was mainly about the dream, as it didn't turn out well, and plus it was an unusual situation. I decided to suck it up anyway and see what happened, but the bad part of the dream did not come to pass physically or metaphorically. I made it out okay, but it was just so strange and unusual.

Normally, I would be more detailed, but I have gotten shy about sharing details on line.

Thanks for the reply. It's good that the reality turned out ok.

That's understandable, I don't think you're the only one to do so.

I'm not fishing for more details here, merely speculating on a possible meaning. I wonder whether the dream was a kind of alert that you needed to take extra care. Or maybe it was simply that the unusual 'real' scenario made a big enough impact to project an 'echo' into the dream.

Another, more subtle meaning is that when one has a dream with a clear correlation to actual events, it can be a trigger to start taking more notice of other dreams which might carry other messages.

On a personal note, I tend to find wisdom and sage advice in my own dreams, though wrapped in a symbolic language. But what is perhaps taking this a step further, sometimes events in real life can play out in a strange way, which can in itself be interpreted in the language of dreams, perhaps one scenario shedding light and understanding on another completely unrelated aspect of one's life.

But I'm moving away from precognition here - sorry about that.

Now that I have had time to reflect, I think the dream (and its real-world outcome) did give me a time to think about it. Overall it turned out to be positive. I wish I could share details, but I might PM you, Typoz, as I respect how you post on here.

Thanks. You're welcome to PM me - but no pressure, it's entirely up to you.

Actually there was a thread about sharing personal experiences, but not necessarily precog ones? It wasn't started by me though.

K9! made a thread about precognition resources maybe?

Okay, adding to this thread.

Not sure what to make of this dream I had the night before last. I had a very vivid dream that I was visiting my grandparents house. Not unusual since I’m having a lot of anxiety around my father’s cancer and my niece (my brother’s daughter) since she has been hospitalized.

But I had a “dream within a dream” where I “dreamed” that my sister plucked out a bee in my ear. (I have an irrational fear of bees.) Then I was back at my grandparents house and I had a buzzing in my ear. My sister again pulled out a bee — but this time she told me to be still, that she was going to pull it out. And she pulled the bee out from my ear. And I thought, wow, I just dreamed that she did that! And I found that strange, but still did not realize I was still in the dream.

I woke up from the dream and thought about it because it was very vivid. About 30 minutes later, I pulled out my computer to do emails, check stuff, the usual. And a fly flew into my ear, complete with the buzzing sound. I immediately stuck my finger in my ear to pull it out, and I was successful. But I thought, how weird is that?

I wouldn’t worry about this so much if it didn’t happen so much.

And yeah, I haven’t written to Typoz yet, but I am on it.

Last night I had my 4th precognitive dream in this year.

I dreamt that Teemu Selänne (Finnish ex-NHL player) had left me a note in which he had written that he wished that Jokerit (Finnish KHL team) would succeed equally well as TPS in their game against HIFK. (both SM-Liiga teams). When I read that note I knew that those two teams were playing each other and I thought that the message meant that TPS had won. Then I woke up.

On this evening I was searching information about coming NHL games and I thought that perhaps some SM-Liiga games had been played today. I checked out the results and there had been HIFK - TPS game which TPS won 4 - 2. (There were two other games as well).

I didn't know if there were any games scheduled for this day. I could not have known that HIFK - TPS was played today. It was absolutely impossible. I only knew that my favorite team SaiPa didn't have a game scheduled for this day and I couldn't care less about other teams. There are 14 other teams, so any team x vs team y combination would have been possible (or no games at all). Last time I had a hockey related dream was in April 7th, when I also had a precognitive dream. I know this, because I always write down my dreams.

Another precognitive dream that I had in 14th August:

In a dream I was watching behind the scenes interview with Dana Elcar. Suddenly he closed his eyes and round purple patches covered his eyes. This continued for about 30 seconds. I thought that it was strange, and then I woke up.

Later on that day I was reading The Self Does Not Die by Rivas, Dirven & Smit. On page 65 there was this sentence: "...purple patches would have appeared in his field of vision...".

On page 65 "the purple afterimage" is mentioned.

I didn't find other mentions of "purple patches" from that book. As I mentioned in my previous post, in this year I have written down every dream that I can remember. I haven't seen any other dreams about purple patches. The part of the book I was reading dealt with the fact that the patient could not have seen anything. It was therefore appropriate that I saw Dana Elcar in my dream. He went blind due to Glaucoma in 1991. Before reading that page I had zero knowledge about the purple afterimage in that kind of situation.
