Adrian is a very easy person to listen to, and I think he sends out a very plausible message - don't try to over-interpret history because so much of the context is lost in history (so to speak).

I didn't realise that some Roman soldiers had their families in those forts.

I liked his push back on 'woke' history.

I think that probably limits the conclusions that you can reasonably come to about the machinations of Josephus etc., so the existence of Jesus is probably never going to be resolved.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed this very much. Those personal anecdotes about what life was like in that time and place are fascinating. I just didn't find anything to argue with so I have nothing else to say!
